POTATO by David O’Reilly

David O’Reilly’s venture into NFTs (O’Reilly, 2021) makes connections between the routing system of potato reproduction with blockchains, as well as making an effort to bring the materiality of the potato into digital format using high resolution 3D photogrammetry. “POTATO” is comical critique on NFTs, as well as being a valuable NFT itself (at one point it was valued between $9,100 – 13,600).
